A large number of the documents I put on this page start as my own notes to understand a topic or compile a reference guide for use friends, employees and myself. These are later rewritten for general use. I don’t know if the reinforcement learning is the point or a happy side effect. I vastly prefer co-authoring rather than working in isolation, so if any of this interests you, get in touch!

Compilations and Commentaries

  • “Grammar of Anarchy” – B.R Ambedkar, Annotated – Google Docs (Work in Progress)
A full, proofread version + annotated version of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s incredible “Grammar of Anarchy” speech. This is one of the most important and selectively misread and unread speeches in the history of India, by both his supporters and detractors. This document is an attempt to correct that.

It is an excellent introduction to the spirit of the constitution, the history surrounding it and the dynamics of the early Indian state, as well as Dr.Ambedkar himself, his style of communcation, and his later disillusionments, misgivings, personal slights and lesser known opinions and insights.

Useful Crowdsourced Documents

Ebooks and Essays

  • A Geneaology of Indian Religious and Social Change (just started, work in progress)
From the 10th century to modern times, from the perspective on their impact on popular attitudes, beliefs and practices
    • A Taxonomy of Indic Thought, A modular companion piece, intended to be used a quick reference, for my “Geneaology of Indian Religious and Social Change” book and the “India: A Guide for the Perplexed” wiki. Lists/organizes the various philosophical schools and sects of India from the Vedas to modern times.

  • The Restless Sons of Noah (Work in Progress, v0.7)
An armchair, comprehensive introduction to the Israel-Palestine conflict, and to the Levant in general. This book is for people like me who accept they have no skin in the game, and want to focus on understanding the history and conflict well-enough to know when it may moral and necessary to offer support, and to whom, in varying instances rather than one “side” as a rule.
    • Companion Document: Israel As Proxy and Mirror – Google Docs (Work in Progress, v0.1)
There are few current issues as enduring and divisive as the Israel-Palestine conflict, to the point where it has become impossible to understand what each person means when they use certain words in reference to it. This document attempts to collate and accurately summarize the numerous differing ways people may see Israel/Palestine and use Israel/Palestine as an example of something they’re trying to persuade you of.

Proposals

Templates

  • Cult Questionnaire for Creating a Personal Reference Document
A template to help you create a complete, organized reference document to clarify your mind about and help you structure your story when talking about cult experiences and similar traumatic experiences. Created it for someone else, decided to generalize it and make it public.

Ideas

  • A New Psychometrics (A Framework for How Set and Setting, Heuristics, Common Sense and Fiction Can Humanize Psychological Testing)

Upcoming

These are all serious and work-in-progress enough for me to feel confident that I will finish it at some point. If any of these sound particularly interesting to you, or you’d like to work with me on it, please drop me a message. I’ll put it higher on my todo and/or loop you in.

  • Pax Dictator (How a re-contextualized Ancient Roman Institution of elected, time-limited, goal-oriented, domain-restricted dictatorship can solve the same problems today that it was designed to solve then)
  • ओस्त्रकिस्मोस (How a heavily modified version of the Ancient Greek system of democratically voted political ostracism can add real stakes against undesirable behaviour by government officials)
  • India: A Guide for the Perplexed (this is one of my biggest side projects)
  • Untitled Short Read Series: Looking outward and exegesis of major ideologies, civilizations and histories using India’s frame of reference
  • Untitled Piece: A Comprehensive Proposal on Humanity’s Connection to and Future for Dogs. With a slight focus on India, but applicable to any other nation. (you can see a short, much narrower examination of the topic here: Ruining Dogs)
  • The Monstrous Entitlement of the Politically-Aware Covidiot (“..And lessons for the next round of a less lenient pandemic”) (not sure if I have the energy to finish this, as I first drafted in in 2021 post-COVID and put it on hold but you can see the general sentiment behind it here: Bad Citizen, Good Complainer)

Courses

  • Digital Media Course (upcoming)

Collections & Data

  • Curated Links for Online Learning – A list of links for learning/DIY I made for an NGO client. I’ve made it a public doc and I hope it helps someone out there
  • My bookmarks – I’ve collected and curated a huge number of bookmarks on my browser over the years, on a wide variety of topics. I’d rather share it than keep it to myself — temporarily unavailable as I find a better way to package it
